Control
Beginning interest in Abstract Vs. Geometric- My inner battle
Weakest- Too much unity in shapes, "cheap" diptych, poor use of negative space

Edited version of above, more control of composition, variety, and use of negative space

Accuracy and Detail
Weakest- Although depth is evident, there are flat shadows, and angles are off
Strongest- Sensitivity to detail (perforated edges on the top of the bag), control of shadows

Craftsmanship vs. Concept
Weakest- Although a transition from realistic to abstract is evident, I focused too much on the concept rather than the beauty of the craft
Strongest- Contrast in color and interior and exterior texture. Unity in form. I explored my abstract side.
Drawing Abroad- Vietnam

Sensitivity and Personal Connection
Weakest- No sensitivity to the moment, too animated and flat, feels rushed and commercial
Strongest- Sensitivity to the moment, to my feelings and feelings of others, and the culture
Goal for the semester
-Work on transitions
-Take advantage of negative space, don't treat it like a void.
-Be accurate with angles and detail, but allow room for discovery of the energy of an object/figure in the beginning (gestures)
-Balance concept with craft, don't spend too much time on one or the other
-Be more sensitive to my artwork, mediate on what it means to me and try not to "over control" a concept or material. Try to capture the true essence of a concept or material.
